How To Deal With The Sluggish Blogging Sense

writers-block

The possibility of a writer’s block is absolutely certain for every writer and the experience or quality of the writer or blogger does not have much effect on the inevitability of this situation.

In short, every writer or blogger faces a dearth of creative ideas at certain points during their career. However, technology and the simple cultivation of methodical awareness, of your niche; can help you overcome your creative block.

You can use these simple tips to enhance your blogging sense for creative ideas. This will directly affect your mental block towards regular flow of interesting blog topics for you to pursue.

Adding sub niches

The most common reason for a dry spell of ideas might be that the niche might have been almost fully explored. It might also be that you need to let some time go before the niche is replenished with more interesting news or ewer topics.

Until then, adding sub niche topics to your regular blog posts frequency can help you alleviate the pressure on the main niche. Try to find relevant and related areas, which can help you explore additional territories of your expertise. Branching out in a completely new niche needs more focus.

However, if you decide to pursue that line of action, you should make sure to update on your main niche at a slow but regular frequency.

Allow Guest posting on your blog

This is an excellent opportunity to get your fellow bloggers to share their slant on the niche. You can invite interesting guest posts from bloggers, where you pre approve topic choices and they elaborate in their own style.

You can also allow them to submit their own creative posts on the niche and in turn gain some fresh perspective that might encourage you to explore that slant yourself. Obviously, this is also a great way to encourage link building and potential professional networking.

Try a new style

There are varieties of different styles of blog posts and sometimes reevaluating a topic in two different styles might lead to the development of two different posts entirely.

Try to conduct a video post, an interview of a potential expert or even a direct review of some pre-posted topics. You will find the new post is refreshingly interesting and encourages new ideas too.

Use old topic ideas to cultivate new ones

The niche develops at its own pace but some tips and topics remain evergreen. Reinvention of older posts might be viable in these scenarios and the new posts can be made more interesting by adding on the recent developments related to the topic.

Personal style posts or opinion

Your blog is an interactive platform. It is true that the basic nature of your blog should remain true to its tone, if you started out in a corporate or formal professional tone. However, this is also the very reason why a new twist of style in some posts might bring out the intensity of the topic in contrast.

Try a personal opinion or share your success or failure review concerning your niche. It makes for a very creative post and encourages interactions with the subscribers too.

All these tips can be used individually or together. Sometimes the effect of the posts can help you find newer avenues of creativity and start new projects. It is always prudent to keep experimenting with ideas to keep from stagnating and stumbling on a block.

    1. Take a break, or

The Most creative idea i think is ” Add new niche ” to your blog and it will fill your blog with some new ideas and post. Guest posting is another very Good idea but most of the time Guest blogger are more interested in inserting their links and does not bother about the quality of the post. That is a big issue, sometimes they also send you UN-related article.

  8. I think Jacko has hit the nail on the head. Your brain ‘blocks’ you from writing because it doesn’t want you to be writing, and would rather you be doing something else.

If you are persistently finding it a challenge to write each blog post then almost certainly blogging is not for you.

Personally I find the biggest problem is keeping my work succinct, because when I sit down to write too much flows out and lots of it is naturally waffle that has to be cut down.

Your tips however are certainly still helpful in terms of keeping your blog fresh and interesting.

  9. That is so true Rojish. Writers block strikes everyone from lyricist to bloggers. getting back on track can be as simple as reading a book to taking a walk outdoors. Sometimes just calling someone and having a conversation will start things flowing again. The key is to not get worked up over it, It will end.

  17. Hi Jane,
All the tips you mentioned are all effective ideas especially if the author of a blog is experiencing writer’s block. What works for me when I experience this is by just relaxing on my rocking chair for a good 15 minutes while listening to classical music. Sometimes, taking a small break is enough to recharge your mind and body.

Just about every blogger goes through this phase where the words no longer seem to flow. Saturation in the niche is certainly a key cause like you have said and it is wise to explore sub-niches at such a time. Allowing guest bloggers a chance to expand on areas you have already covered is also a great idea and one that I hope more bloggers encourage as it is always a plus for the visitors since they get different perspectives from the usual one.
