Why Waste Money On Ninja Affiliate Plugin?

waste moneyMaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate is one of the most promoted WordPress plugin in blogosphere. The plugin, which costs 97$, will help you to convert certain keywords in your blog posts in to trackable affiliate links automatically. Every time when these keywords appear on your blog post it will become your affiliate links automatically. This plugin, which offers good affiliate commissions prompted many bloggers to write positive reviews about the Ninja plugin. To tell you the truth I am an affiliate of the MaxBlogPress Ninja affiliate plugin and have sold many copies of the plugin but many times I asked this question myself, is this plugin worth my money?

So what are the things Ninja Affiliate plugin do?

The biggest benefit of using Ninja Affiliate plugin is saving time. You can have ALL your affiliate product links all in one place. So no more signing into numerous affiliate sites to get links each time you write a post or an article. The major functions of the Ninja Affiliate plugin are:

1. Easy Affiliate Link Management – You can easily give each affiliate link an easy-to-remember name.
2. Insert Affiliate Links Directly – Add your affiliate links directly for your WordPress blog editor.
3. Transform Keywords to Links – Automatically turn keywords in your blog to affiliate links. You can set a limit too, so your posts don’t look like a spam blog.
4. Use “No-Follow” Links – Control your link juice and escape punishment from Google.
Sounds good, isn’t it? But the price tag of 97$ looks too high for this plugin. This question becomes more prominent when you learn that almost all the functionality of this plugin can be implemented on your blog for free. Yes, you heard it right, absolutely free!

How to get Ninja Affiliate functionality in your blog for free?

We use two GPL WordPress plugins for implementing our own affiliate functionality – GoCodes and SEO Smart Links. One of the main functions of Ninja Affiliate plugin is to convert your long, boring affiliate links in to a short, easy to remember name and it is exactly what GoCodes do. GoCodes lets you create shortcut URLs to anywhere on the internet, right from your WordPress Admin.

First install GoCode plugin in your blog. To manage your redirects, open your WordPress admin, and go to the Tools -> GoCodes menu. From there you can remove redirects by clicking on the “Delete” button next to their entries, and you can add new ones using the form on the page. The “Key” field is where you enter the redirection string (e.g. “theme” in yourdomain.com/go/theme/). The URL field is where you enter the URL that users will be redirected to (“http://” is required).

Ok, so now we have a friendly affiliate URL. Now we have to find some means to add them to our keywords automatically and the SEO Smart Links plugin comes to our help. SEO Smart Links can automatically link keywords and phrases in your posts and comments with corresponding posts, pages, categories and tags on your blog.

After you installed SEO Smart Plugin go to Settings –> SEO Smart Links
In the custom keyword box you can enter manually the extra keywords you want to automatically link. Use comma to separate keywords and add target URL at the end (use the custom URL you created using GoCodes). Use a new line for new URL and set of keywords. You can have these keywords link to any URL, not only your site. You can also specify whether the links should have a ‘no follow’ attribute (it is good you leave it ‘no follow’). Also you can limit the number of links per page.

seo smart links

And that is it just like Ninja Affiliate, GoCodes will let you track how many times that link is clicked and SEO Smart Links allows add links automatically to your posts. Now it’s your turn, will you spend money for Ninja Affiliate plugin?

The big question, should I spend money on Ninja Affiliate plugin?

The answer is yes and no. If you are already started making money from your blog then it will not be a bad idea to invest some money for this plugin because it saves a lot of your time and the plugin comes with a good support from the developers. But if you are still struggling to make money from your blog then it is better to use this 97$ for more productive things like a good webhosting or a newsletter service.

Are you already using MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate plugin? How do you feel about it? Did it perform better than GoCodes and SEO Smart Links?

    Interesting, Rojish.

I have heard quite a lot about this plugin, and I think it caught my attention upon visiting the MaxBlogpress site.

You certainly show great character, in that although, you’re an affiliate, you nevertheless are honest enough to see and speak of the down side to this product.

I am in the process of purchasing a particular program(for keyword research, etc) and have experienced numerous problems(Freezing up, very slow loading of data, having to shut down program and start from scratch).

This program is talked of endlessly, as being the best product, for what it does.
I think maybe this program is also overrated, as I have seen quite a few complaints stating it is way to slow and overloads your CPU(It uses all your resources to run).

I believe this program is also offered as an affiliate on a number of sites.
I am in the trial period where a special discount is offered, and after having contacting the support staff, I told them quite directly what issues they need to sort out, if they do not wish to lose a lot of potential customers.

I’ve just bought the Affiliate Ninja plugin and I’m having real trouble installing it and no one is getting back to me to help me. I’d rather just have my money back, but claiming the money back guarantee seems tricky too.

    Any advice?

I wouldn’t mind paying for it if it actually worked.

  18. A great article here! Free alternatives that you suggested for Ninja Affiliate plugin are looking more useful. However my favorite SEO plugin (SEO ultimate) having an inbuilt module called “Deeplink Juggernaut” which is doing the same job for me. Plus it allows to ad “nofollow” and “_blank” attributes to links.
